After, a short introduction we will start to discuss of the first precept my teacher taught us :

"Go straight to the point, always !"

This of course seems obvious but we all know that it is one of the most difficult task to achieve properly.

What the customer really want ? Does he knows what he really want ?

Yes, I admit that most of the time, at the beginning, the customer has only a vague idea of what he want, and nowadays, a much more restricted budget to achieve it. Sometime, the customer want to use its available budget just to not lose it next year ! Other times, it is more a political and/or marketing decision from the hierarchy to surf on the last "en vogue" technology that the concurrent already use or is implementing, or even worst, just to replace a properly used technology marked as "Obsolete" by some consultants or simply because the used product is going "end of life".

In that context, what can we do to go straight to it ?

1. Plan and drive your meetings properly

2. Set up the realisation plan

3. Implement only what is requested

4. Customer Acceptation of realised artefacts

5. Restart at 1 until project finished

Cycle after cycle, you will see that the customer request will begin to be more intelligible for them, and of course for you !

In the next part, we will focus how to be straight with our meetings.
