- "Be lazy but brilliant programmer !"
It was the leitmotiv from one of my best data computing teacher when at was at school twenty five years ago !
You can imagine the surprise that was visible on the faces of the assembly..
Indeed, everyone thought (and me the first) that once employed, we must absolutely work hard and long hours to prove our competence ... but he taught us exactly the opposite! 
In fact, he tried to teach us the best approach to work efficiently by following these precepts:
- "Go straight to the point, always !" : Do exactly what the customer request, no less, no more.
- "Be the tortoise, not the hare in the fable !" : Be well prepared, and start working on your task as soon as you are ready.
- "Be lazy, don't do things twice !" : Always design and develop things as they would be reused.
- "Be brilliant !" : When you are doing something, do it as simple as it can be.
Well, all this can seems to be some kind of "Breaking open doors", but as you will see in the next chapters, it will not be the case...
