How to call Restfull webservice using Powerbuilder.Net

Hi All,

 

I am trying to call a restfull webservice using PB.Net. I have created the proxy and able to see the response arguments in the Powerbuilder. The return type of the restfull webserivice is JSON type.

 

But when i am trying to call the webservice, i am getting the below error.

'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. '

Powerbuilder 12.6 application does not run from the CITRIX application

Trying to run our Powerbuilder 12.6 application from the CITRIX application or locally on the dmaps-citrix system and getting an error:fit.exe - Application

     test.exe - Application Error

 

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application

 

dmaps-citrix is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Service Pack 1 and XenApp 6 Fundamentals Edition from Citrix company. We have a customer that runs their application from the Citrix environment and has for many years.  Past versions of Powerbuilder have not caused any issues.

 

Our application is a 32-bit.

 

It runs everywhere else with the same DLL's, but when putting them all on Citrix, it fails.

hebrew is interpreted in different ways by two computer

Hello

we work in powerbuilder 12.5

File with hebrew is reading good in one computer and not read at all in another one.

we compare the two control panel-font (factory setting) and its the same.

Hi Guys

If I set DelimitIdentifier = 'YES' then all my tables and column names in datawindow are retrieved with doublequotes but not tablenames and columnnames in where clause

 

Anyone of you can give me some hint in order to add doublequotes to where clauses too? There is some other parameter?

SMTP - of_sendmail

Hi all,

 

We have implemented the of_sendmail smpt function from Roland's topwhiz site. Thanks Roland !

 

This works great for 2 customers. Today we tried to activate this function for the 3th customer , but our app just hangs.

 

I have enabled the smtp tracing log and this is what i get

How to save as text with headers that are case sensitive?

Using PB 12.6 against Oracle, I can not get a save as text with headers to preserve the case sensitivity.

SELECT column_name_id AS "Column_Name_ID"

Or AS "COLUMN_NAME_ID"

Text file has column_name_id as the header name or at one point was only each word capitalized such as "Column_Name_Id"

I thought this might be an option or preference setting but can't find it?

PowerBuilder 12.6 and Full Adobe Acrobat OCX

Hello,

 

We have a PowerBuilder 12.6 application and we would now like to start embedding the OCX control for the full Adobe Acrobat X product (not the Reader, but the full Acrobat)

 

We have Adobe Acrobat X installed on our development machine and PowerBuilder's Browser Window shows that the Adobe PDF Reader is registered as an OLE Custom Control.

 

However, it appears that this control is not the full Acrobat product and is actually just the Reader. (We want to be able to save changes to PDF documents which is why we need the full Acrobat product).  The InprocServer32 = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroPDF.dll.

 

What needs to be done (if this is even possible) to register the full Acrobat OCX (dll) control so that we can insert it as an OLE Object on a Window.

 

We've been able to use ConnectToNewObject('AcroExch.App') as a test to see if Acrobat X opens, but we want to be able to embed the Acrobat X Writer on a Response Window for the UI

PB12 Lic Err: The Sybase SySAM license was not validated.

We have a copy of Sybase12 installed on a Windows 7 machine. When I remote desktop onto this machine and open pb12, periodically, I will get the following error:

 

The Sybase SySAM license was not validated.
You will be given a chance to change the SYSAM license.

 

If I logon on physically on the machine and open PB12 there first, then remote desktop again from my laptop, I will be fine.

 

Please help why this is happening and how to make the message go away for good...

Powerbuilder 12.6 keeps crashing in the debugger

I have actually had this trouble in Powerbuilder 8, 11.5, and now 12.6.  It just stops responding and crashes often in debug.  I usually remove all the breakpoints and try and only leave the actual one I need at the time.  It will proceed but eventually stops responding again.  I am currently running with 1 breakpoint.  It is crashing, I start it again, it stops at the breakpoint but when I hit to run till it hits again, it crashes.  I can delete the OPT file, but it will eventually crash again.

 

What is triggering the crash that breakpoints need to be removed over and over.

PB SharedObjects Multithreading using same connection

We have a SYBASE db server and the switch app disconnects the transaction between the client and server if there is no action for n minutes..

 

I want to piggy back on the transaction object in PB and send a wakeup call so switch does not disconnect it - for these long running reports

ie: multithreading on the SYBASE db server using one transaction object

 

I have created a window that starts a sharedobject which uses the window's transaction object -- the shareobject has a timer event

that the nvo just inserts rows into a dummy table.  It keeps inserting the rows using the windows' transaction object itran

 

When I retrieve from a datawindow in the window though the timer stops and I no longer see rows inserting in the dummy table

UNTIL after the retrieve is finished.  I want it at the same time.

 

I can't use another transaction because the first one gets disconnected. 

 

I am using ASE 12.5  and itran.dbparm = "Async=1"   

 

in other words I can share the windows transaction object between the window and a sharedobject (multithreads)

BUT as soon as the window talks to the database - the sharedobject stops and does not continue until the window is finished.

 

ANY help would be appreciated so much thx!!!

the active directory ?

 

My client wants me to combine SSO protocol in the app ?

Trying to figure out how to use the api/dll's of the EWS.  I am new to web services in pb so I seem to be going nowhere fast.  If you have used it I would appreciate some guidance or better yet code/instruction on how to use/access it/setup.  I need to be able to get to exchange (in this case using an office365 test account) and read emails/calendar info etc..

64 bit deploy DOA?

Hello All,

Our massive flagship pb 12.5 application has been compiled and run in 32 bit pcode for eons.  Since we integrate with other standard desktop software such as Outlook and Excel, our customers have been clamoring for a 64 bit version.  About a year ago I attempted a 12.6 migration and 64 bit deploy using build 4018.   Unfortunately, at that time the application would 'fall down' and hard crash when certain windows were opened.

Today, I revisited  x64 with the latest, build 4088.  Unfortunately, it seems like things have gotten worse rather than better.   1)  The IDE crashes during migration. 2)  The same window crash the system during open.  On the mixed good news side, I can deploy and run a small application as x64.

 

On the better news side,  I was able to migrate the application using BootStrap from TopWiz (thanks Roland).  Once  I migrated and regenerated, I was able to compile the application using PBOrcapi from TopWiz.  But that's it.  The 64 bit runtime, most of the application windows work, but not the 'bigger ones' 

 

Here's what happens during app full build  (same as what happens during migration) -- nukes the PBLs and have to start again

Once I BootStrap and PBOrcapi compile I can run x6v4, as you can see in the task manager  (smartsoft does NOT have *32)

But opening a large (heavy) window nukes the systems

Looking at the code at the referenced line, it's like the datawindows have not been created in memory and are not present for .object.data  reference code

 

The application runs fine in 32 bit mode

What is going on?  Anybody have success with large app 64 bit deploys?
