Hi,
Forgive me, I think this is going to get a little complex... I'll do my best to keep things clear and concise.
Let me start off saying I am an IT Network tech... not an application developer. We've run into a problem here where a custom in house application built by our Apps team is exhibiting a "new" behavior as observed by its users, but the Apps team is insisting they haven't changed anything to cause this and/or everyone else is wrong (ie, it's always been this way). The Apps team is going the step further to insist that we (the network team) have changed something... I'm sure you can see where this is going.
Ok, so the problem. Within the application our Apps team has built, the users have the ability to print a report. They retrieve the data they need, click print and get a standard print dialog. They choose their printer, change the preference settings for the printer (in some cases... I guess these reports come out better in landscape), then print. Where the problem occurs is when they go to print their next report... all of their custom settings (the printer they chose, landscape vers portrait, etc) have been reset.
No other Windows based application appears to be having this problem. It appears to be happening for this application only, regardless of the OS (XP & 7), printer, or print server being used.
Is there anything that you folks can think of that could be causing this?
